About This Site

Finding a released DeKalb County inmate means knowing which record remains after a name leaves current custody. A county release record, court docket, IDOC profile, or supervision record may each describe a different event. This private reference site gathers those official paths and explains their limits in one place.

Why This Site Exists

DeKalb County does not publish a verified 24-hour or 72-hour released-person feed. A person may leave the DeKalb County Jail for the community, IDOC, another jurisdiction, medical care, or another lawful placement. The site organizes explanations of Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Illinois VINE, Illinois Department of Corrections, parole and probation, BOP, and ICE records so readers can understand what each kind of record means.

The goal is clear, purpose-neutral information. Release, transfer, parole, mandatory supervised release, probation, and final discharge are not synonyms. Pages explain those distinctions and the limits of public access.

What Readers Will Find

Coverage includes the DeKalb County Jail and River Valley Juvenile Detention Center, with strong confidentiality limits for youth records. Guides explain an adult jail departure, Sheriff records under Illinois FOIA, court dispositions, active IDOC or supervision profiles, Illinois VINE notices, and the boundaries between county, state, federal, and immigration custody.

This site does not publish its own jail roster, release list, mugshot gallery, or court database. It provides context for official tools and public record types.

What We Cannot Do

DeKalb County Released Inmates is privately owned. It is not connected with DeKalb County, the Sheriff's Office, the jail, River Valley, IDOC, the Prisoner Review Board, a court, BOP, ICE, or any other government body. We cannot release a person, confirm current custody, retrieve a private record, change a court order, register someone for notifications, or give legal advice.

The site has no government authority and cannot guarantee access to a record. Juvenile information may remain confidential.

Search Partners

Some pages contain search tools supplied by outside partners. If a visitor chooses one of those tools, the partner receives the submitted query and applies its own terms and privacy practices. DeKalb County Released Inmates may earn a referral fee from partner activity. That compensation helps support the site but does not change the price shown to the visitor.

A partner result is not an official DeKalb County or Illinois custody record.
