Why This Site Exists
DeKalb County does not publish a verified 24-hour or 72-hour released-person feed. A person may leave the DeKalb County Jail for the community, IDOC, another jurisdiction, medical care, or another lawful placement. The site organizes explanations of Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Illinois VINE, Illinois Department of Corrections, parole and probation, BOP, and ICE records so readers can understand what each kind of record means.
The goal is clear, purpose-neutral information. Release, transfer, parole, mandatory supervised release, probation, and final discharge are not synonyms. Pages explain those distinctions and the limits of public access.
What Readers Will Find
Coverage includes the DeKalb County Jail and River Valley Juvenile Detention Center, with strong confidentiality limits for youth records. What We Cannot Do
DeKalb County Released Inmates is privately owned. It is not connected with DeKalb County, the Sheriff's Office, the jail, River Valley, IDOC, the Prisoner Review Board, a court, BOP, ICE, or any other government body. We cannot release a person, confirm current custody, retrieve a private record, change a court order, register someone for notifications, or give legal advice.
The site has no government authority and cannot guarantee access to a record. Juvenile information may remain confidential.
